The phenomenon of sleep has intrigued scientists for a very long time now. Many of its facets have been studied in detail and quite a few results have come to light. Although still a mysterious activity for us humans it has nevertheless been found that sleep has many positives associated with it.
For instance, a good night’s sleep replenishes bodies used up energy; it helps in augmenting memory, and helps in improving the learning capability of the human beings. Howsoever not everybody is able to enjoy a good night’s sleep. There are many disorders that are associated with sleep. Some of the most common are sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome. Among all such sleep disorders sleep apnea is the most perilous disorder. In sleep apnea the patient finds it difficult to breathe during sleeping. The problem of sleep apnea is associated with loud snoring although not all the people who snore suffer from this disorder. What happens during sleep apnea is that the person’s effort to inhale air creates a suction that leads to the collapsing of the wind pipe. The airflow is thus blocked for some 10 seconds to a minute and hence the person ends up struggling to breathe properly. This leads to a fall in the blood oxygen level. When that happens the brain awakens the person enough to open the windpipe. The person might snort or sometimes gasp and then resume snoring. This cycle might repeat itself for say a hundred times in a single night. The frequent disturbance during the night of a sleep apnea patient might lead to some personality disorders like, depression or irritability or some other mental disorder. Some of the major sleep apnea symptoms are morning headaches, decline in mental functioning, and reduced interest in sex, sometimes irregular heartbeats and an increased risk of heart attack.
People who are suffering from sleep apnea should immediately get themselves treated. There are several sleep apnea treatments that the patient can undergo. One of the most common is the CPAP treatment. There are also many sleep labs available where the patient can get himself treated. These sleep labs offer various facilities to the patient which the patient can avail.

There must be an easier way!
I know now this project can be a DIY project.
You buy a used machine in the craigslist. and you graduate the pressure yourself a step at a time. The thing is many accessories need to be replaced periodically. Try the “nasal pillows” first. Less dramatic than the big ugly mask.
CPAP will change your attitude, your level of energy, the amount of time you sleep, etc.
I am sleeping now peacefully 7 to 8 hrs/day.
MAGIC!
hmmm…sounds to me like it could be normal teenage boy syndrome… only thing to do is wait 20 yrs for him to grow out of it…;)
It quite possibly could have been. Some people lace shitty mexican brick weed with pcp to make it seem like good weed. But then again weed it self can cause mild hallucinations and the rest could be just an overreaction.
I believe everybody needs the feeling to either be loved or at least the feeling to belong and to be needed.. not necessarily for everybody this involve a partner.. but everybody needs people in their lives who give them the feeling one is appreciated and wanted or one has to work in a profession where one gets the sense of being appreciated and needed.. then the ''not having a partner to love'' won't be as bad as the person still gets the feeling of a purpose in life and that is more important even that the love of a partner. Without either of those. The love of friends, children or a partner, if none of that exists and no life fulfilling job, then that would make a person depressed and could lead to psychosis.. and not caring about eating or eating too much, neglecting oneself, sleeping too much. It would lead to ill health. Anxiety and depression could develop and a person could commit suicide. I don't believe it would lead to Bi Polar disorder. Loneliness and no purpose in life… can make a person mentally ill with severe depression and psychosis.. and the lifestyle can make the person ill. If the person doesn't commit suicide and does not seek help then the health problems could become severe. A peron could either become Anorexic or Obese and that could kill a person as a result of loneliness but loneliness would be the trigger… the illness caused by the depression or other illnesses would weaken the persons health and could lead to death not the loneliness itself. Therefore people who feel lonely should join clubs and try to get a job where they are appreciated and feel useful and also try to make friends then this can compensate for the lack of a partner and a person can find love, or at least a partner, but one has to make efforts and go out there and meet people. Make friends first and friendship can lead to more. Nobody needs to be that lonely if they really try… only if that person gives up. xx
Ask for a polysomny check. Or if you want to check it yourself at cheap price, buy a pulse oximeter probe to attach your ps and check your night oxigen saturation variations. You find also inexpensive wrist pulse oximeter on e-Bay, so you can check 24h your oxigen saturation and heart beat and download data on your pc for automatic reports with sleeping apnea events pointed out by the pc application which comes with the probe.
I’m doing this to help my mother. Good luck!
Because that way would make too much sense in our messed up system. Really, I guess there is reason behind the whole diagnosing part but I’m sure it could be simplified somehow
maybe, but it is better than dying of a stroke or a heart attack in your sleep. But those are decisions we all make for ourselves. It does make me wonder what EsotericAdept is selling.
I have Apnea and I use a CPAP pump….I could not live without it. When they did the sleep test they found I was waking up over 200 times a night!!!
I also found that The Secrets of Eden Acai Energy Boost helps when I wake up sometimes exhausted. Google “The Secrets of Eden”
I know that I have sleep apnea, but I simply cant afford the ridiculously overpriced sleep studies (even with health insurance would cost me over a grand for the study and you usually need more than one and I just dont have that kind of money). I wonder why I cant simply skip ahead to the part where I buy the machine?
It is possible that you might have a mental disorder, but it is more likely you are reacting to the usual chemical changes in your brain at your age. What concerns me are the "temper tantrums", which are abnormal, and could be a symptom of a number of conditions. It's not uncommon for Bipolar Disorder to manifest during someone's mid-teens, which sounds most like what you are describing. It's important, however, to realize that most teenagers go through dramatic mood changes as part of their brains adjusting to growing up, and this is normal.
i habe sleep apnea. But theres no fucking way the dr is putting that elephant trunk on my face. I hate anything touching me at night and that device is a disaster
Ok this isn't after a baby (I don't have one yet) but all of a sudden a few weeks ago i started having images of aliens comeing in my house trying to kill me, take me away, and stuff like that. I have been watching alien shows and movies but a months ago.
I'm so afraid that i either put a sleeping mask on or pull the covers up. Childish, I know. It's just happened out of the blue. I mean, I've never been scared or horror and alien shows. I love them, actually. But, I let the cats i have in sometimes to "protect" me or make me feel like I'm not alone.
But all they do is make noise and sudden movements and completely scare me! I'm so afraid I don't even get up do go and shut the door! I live alone so I'm only in my house alone. And I leave the fan on since it's so hot. The fan is a little bit old, so it makes noises, too.
And the really, creepy thing is that, Sometimes when I have dreams for awhile, they almost come true! When I was a little girl I had dreams of a fire in the house. When I got older one night the power went out so my mom put candals on in the bathroom and lite them and left them lite. So, at 3 o'clock or so, they had burnt dow the whole candel and started a small fire. The fire thing went off and I was scared out of my wits! So my mom, was like, "What's going on?!" and went to the candels and through water all over them and ashes were flying. From this day forward that bathroom still has ashes on the celing…
Tell the person that they are not alone and you're willing to go along with him or her to seek help.that's what my family done for me i'm Bipolar Disorder taking meds and feeling well for now .sometimes i have good and bad days .
I think that this like many other things that have come and gone in the past years is unfortunatly not a cure. People are always claiming that a diet or something is going to cure autism. I work with children with autism and I've never heard about this working. I know 5 years ago when they thought vaccines may be causing autism it was all over the news. I think if it did it would be on the news and all over the place – because a cure for autism would be a big deal. This may be a good treatment for some children but I don't think cure is the right word. (This of course is just my personal opinion and it would never hurt to try a new treatment)
me too, also like drifting into semi consciousness struggling for breath then jolting awake gasping for air. its horrible, dad has it so i think il get checked
Each scenario used the resources available to meet the needs, even if the result was less than ideal.
The best direct service was the homeless program, who brought medical care directly to the client rather than making them travel, which is a barrier.
The best use of a plan was the frst scenario, which had a highly usable plan for a very real situation, and their main priority was protecting the survivor of violence.
The second scenario is very realistic and, while definately not ideal, at least responded to the solution.
In the 2nd and 3rd cases you will not be able to detect effectiveness until the programs have a track record to review. In the 1st case the safety planning worked like it should, meaning it worked quite well to protect everyone involved.
